Before a few weeks I wanted to look at new HTML5 canvas tag and what could be done with that. It was intended as simple test but it is pretty fun so now I want to finish this retro game. In the end it should have 10 stages.

I have a few notes about the game;
- Shots don't feel powerful enough
- Little to tiny rock bits should not cause damage (in fact, they shouldnt get that small because it slows down the game.)
- Stone storm is very laggy

I am of the opinion that it is a little on the difficult side. Mostly there are just too many rocks floating around. Maybe in a higher level they would be fine.

Use the arrow keys, to move, Spacebar or Control key to fire, and Shift key to dpeloy the shield weapon/defense. WARNING: Pressing Shift key will use up almost all of your shield at once and you will be out of it until it replenishes. It is always on, but pressing Shift key makes it destroy nearby objects. That uses it up very fast.

I did that, but then I lost on the saucer stage and it still said it was locked

If you are not logged in, the game does not know that it is you playing again and you must start from first stage.

now that is frustrating,if you wanna keep your progress and be in the highscore list if you achieved a very high highscore you need to be logged in however also completeing a mission gives you a button,buttons are the currency of rw-desginer you earn them when you are logged in and complete a level of cosmic journey or if you hit a place in the highscore list all of that will happen and even more if you are logged in,if you are an artist and love drawing and painting then join this site for making icons and cursors

yeah when ever i try to play cosmic journey it just comes up as a black screen

Always when I finish the 1st level, the ship explodes with a big bang 😉 But then, the levels goes on, as if I wouldn't have achieved it - although there doesn't appear stones anymore. This is quite annoying, because I would like to go on with the next level 😞
I have tried it using Firefox and Google Chrome, both are up to date.

I would like to know if others have this problem too, or if I do something wrong when I destroy the ship!

There is a bug that can sometimes cause this. It was not apparent before, so maybe it only happens in faster browsers. Sometimes the enemy ships disappears out of the screen and therefore cannot be destroyed. It does not happen always. I'll try to fix it.

Kinda hard, and learned the controls fast, and could be helpful with different colors. 😞

This game is basically unplayable 😞 because of the glitch that makes the robot car things stop being recognized by the game and go to the corner, because they are unkillable and you cannot beat the level until they are dead.

OK, I did some changes and maybe this should not happen anymore. You may need to press Ctrl-F5 to force the browser to refresh all sources.

Ohhh thank you so much, yes it seems to work now without that bug.
I know how annoying it is to garbage collect unneeded objects without removing the references to the wrong ones. For me, I've had trouble because I kept my enemy objects in Arrays (although I suspect linked lists would be better as I add and remove enemies more than I use random access on the lists) and when splicing the killed enemies or the ones off the screen from my arrays as I cycle through them, my counter to hold the index of where I am tends to get messed up when the Array length changes after a splice and elements get shifted and my index counter gets out of position causing me to skip over objects or delete the wrong ones. So I've also had that sorta "hanging" object glitch were a displayed object is no longer "known" to the program at least in part (as in this case it still needs to be destroyed).

On a side note, Isn't 100 fps a little overkill 😉

Maybe the easiest way would be to copy the objects from one array to another array. This way even be the fastest solution if you remove 3 or more objects each time. But speed may not really matter if the number of objects is low.

I don't know though, because even if you have, say, 8 objects in the array, you're still creating a new 8 object array each frame. So that's 30, or 60 times a second that a new array is created (even though it is short). That might be sorta slow.

also after you press enter, and before you enter a stage, you can press the arrow keys to change stage. I have not unlocked iron man, but I can go to escort service, press enter, and quickly press the right arrow key to go to iron man.

I tried it on an anonymous account and I could select stone stage, press enter, quickly press the right arrow button 6 times, and end up on iron Man

No, you can play unlocked levels, to do it, select any unlocked level without pressing enter, and randomly press enter, shift, and the right arrow key at the same time, any random level will be selected

I found out a way to play locked stages:
first press enter when selecting stone stage, then press right arrow of keyboard,

1 press: saucer stage
2 presses: wormhole
3 presses: space pirates
4 presses: alien invaders
5 presses: escort service
6 presses: iron man

The game features are very good, I love it. The leaderboard system is also fire! I like the game, and it would be cool if there were more game's like these on realworlds, most could be multiplayer!
